Spring Fling 2026: Life Is a Picnic

Spring in the Cape Fear region brings blooming flowers, longer days, and the perfect opportunity to gather with friends for a meaningful cause. The Salvation Army of Cape Fear Women’s Auxiliary invites the community to celebrate the season at the Spring Fling: Life Is a Picnic fundraiser on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This cheerful, picnic inspired event promises a morning filled with community, generosity, and a little springtime fun, all while supporting the life changing work of The Salvation Army in our region.

A Morning of Community & Giving

Guests are invited to join us beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wilmington. The event will feature a variety of activities designed to bring people together while raising funds to support programs that serve individuals and families across the Cape Fear area.

Attendees can look forward to:

• Silent Auction featuring unique items and local experiences

• Craft Sale showcasing handmade goods

• Bake Sale filled with homemade treats

• Plant Sale perfect for spring gardens and porch pots

The silent auction opens at 10:00 AM, giving guests plenty of time to browse and place bids. At noon, the event continues with a luncheon and entertainment, offering a chance to relax, connect, and celebrate the impact of the Auxiliary’s work.

Events like Spring Fling help the Women’s Auxiliary continue their mission of supporting the programs and services of The Salvation Army of Cape Fear. Funds raised contribute directly to efforts that provide shelter, meals, and essential support to neighbors in need throughout our community. The Women’s Auxiliary has long been a dedicated partner in helping The Salvation Army meet urgent needs while strengthening families and restoring hope.
