SHELTER

The Salvation Army's Center of Hope shelter is a 75-bed facility that can accommodate men, women, and families, and also serves as an emergency disaster shelter for our community. The shelter includes amenities like a full-service kitchen and laundry facilities, social services, and programs to help with housing and employment.

Each dorm contains bunk beds, lockers and bathroom facilities with showers.  Linens and toiletries are provided and laundry facilities are on site.  The Shelter Program does require participants to be drug and alcohol free.

COMMUNITY FEED KITCHEN

Community Feed Kitchen, is located in the Center of Hope. Shelter residents receive breakfast and dinner served in the dining room, along with a bagged lunch to take with them as they head out for work, school, or job searches.

Beyond our Shelter Resident Meal Program, the Community Feed initiative provides a bagged lunch and a hot evening meal from 6:00 to 6:30 p.m. each day. Everyone in our community is welcome — simply come by for pick-up, no ID or paperwork needed.

SHELTER VOLUNTEER

The Salvation Army of Cape Fear is currently seeking dedicated volunteers to serve alongside our Executive Chef and staff, preparing and serving nutritious meals for shelter residents and our wider community.

This opportunity includes participation in our Community Feed initiative, which provides warm, ready-to-go meals for anyone in need in the local area. The Center of Hope offers daily meals seven days a week, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.

Whether you’re an individual volunteer or part of a group, we welcome consistent weekly or monthly commitments to help us bring hope and nourishment to our neighbors.

Ready to make a difference? Start by completing a volunteer application. A background check and brief orientation are required to ensure a safe and meaningful experience for everyone.
